when i'm writing, i always have in the back of my mind what i would have wanted as a young lesbian reader... plus what i still want as a reader, of course! for me, my top ones are wanting to see lesbians who don't ever date men and who are out from the beginning/sexuality is not a crisis. i also really seek out, as a reader, and try to write in butch/femme stuff because that's so rare.
what about you? as a reader, what are things you wish were shown in lesbian fiction? as a writer, do you purposely include or avoid anything (besides avoiding the obvious like bury your gays...)?
