Need help with your resume, whether you should apply to something, or about office norms? Post it here, and others can give you advice!
(I'm 28 and have about 10 years of professional experience in corporate and startup environments, some of that including reviewing resumes although I wasn't doing the hiring--so fire away.)

I'm really really close to the end of my degree (eep) and I've started looking for work in my field (ideally like to work in video production but also have an interest/some non-paid experience in digital marketing) and it's the worst!
I've gotten straight out rejections for jobs I thought I had a decent shot at, and I'm worried that my resume/cover letters aren't getting across my skills/experience.
ALSO the thing I struggle the most with is having interviews and then not hearing back at all, not even to be rejected. My parents think I should be calling to chase up after interviews, but I feel like if they haven't called me it's because they don't want to hire me so why bother? Is it normal to hear back at all from interviews or should I be chasing up? Advice welcomed.

What I've heard is that during the interview, you should ask them when you'll hear back from them about it, and then if they don't get back to you within that time, you can go ahead and contact them
